La Comisión Directiva de la AAGG (31/8/2010) ha resuelto que sus socios -con la debida

Normas e instrucciones para los autores/Instructions to the authors

GEOACTA está editada por la Asociación Argentina de Geofísicos y Geodestas. Está constituida por secciones independientes, en cada una de las cuales se publican trabajos originales e inéditos y que no se encuentren en evaluación simultánea en otras revistas, en forma de artículos o notas a los distintos dominios de la Geofísica, Geodesia, Geología, Vulcanismo, Oceanografía, Geografía, Meteorología, Geoquí-mica y temas con aplicación al medio ambiente. El Consejo Editorial con la colaboración de otros especialistas en los distintos campos de la ciencia, considera el valor de cada uno de los originales entregados por los autores y decide sobre la conveniencia o no de su publicación (de los que, en cada caso informa al autor o autores), la sección en que se incluirá el artículo aceptado y el orden de publicación del mismo dentro de cada volumen.

GEOACTA se publica una vez por año. Los trabajos deben ser originales y presentarán datos, interpretaciones o síntesis no publicadas con anterioridad. En caso de ser aceptados, los trabajos pasarán a ser propiedad intelectual de la Asociación Argentina de Geofísicos y Geodestas.

Los idiomas oficiales de GEOACTA son el Español e Inglés. Los trabajos en Español llevarán un RESUMEN en este idioma y con el objeto de asegurar la máxima difusión de los trabajos, un ABSTRACT en inglés. Los trabajos en Inglés llevarán un ABSTRACT en Inglés y un RESUMEN en Español.

Los autores pueden presentar trabajos en cualquiera de las siguientes opciones.

Trabajos de Investigación: corresponden a contribuciones originales dentro de la temática general de GEOACTA.
Notas Breves: contribuciones cortas cuyo objetivo es dar a conocer hallazgos importantes que merezcan su pronta publicación o para presentar nuevas técnicas o datos realmente significativos. No deberán superar las cuatro hojas escritas a doble espacio, incluyendo figuras y bibliografía.

Discusiones y Réplicas: los comentarios y discusiones sobre trabajos publicados en GEOACTA serán considerados muy favorablemente y son demostrativos de un marcado interés por el progreso de la ciencia pero donde primen el respeto y la tolerancia por la diversidad de opiniones. Los mismos deben identificar claramente la cita completa del trabajo. Una copia de la Discusión será enviada al primer autor del artículo en cuestión para su respuesta. Tanto la Discusión como la Réplica serán publicadas en forma conjunta en el próximo número de GEOACTA.

PRESENTACION DE TRABAJOS

Los manuscritos pueden ser elevados en formato electrónico (preferentemente) o impresos de acuerdo con las siguientes instrucciones. No obstante, en breve se implementará el Sistema Electrónico Editorial (SEE) único para la presentación de trabajos

Formato Electrónico

Los trabajos podrán ser enviados por correo electrónico (preferentemente) o por envío postal en CD, Zip o Diskettes al Editor o co-Editor. La versión electrónica del manuscrito debe, en términos generales, seguir el mismo formato de la versión impresa, pero los archivos deben ser estructurados y nombrados de la siguiente forma:

Un archivo conteniendo el texto del trabajo, incluyendo los resúmenes, referencias, las tablas y leyendas bilingües de figuras y tablas escritos en procesador de texto WordPerfect o Word. El nombre del archivo incluirá el apellido del autor y la palabra "Texto". En caso de más de un autor se incluirá "et al": Pérez et al Texto.doc (o .wpd)

Un archivo por cada figura, preferentemente en formato Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator, jpg o tif. El nombre seguirá el mismo formato que para el caso de texto, pero llevará la palabra "Fig" y el número de figura: Pérez et al Fig 1.cdr (o .jpg o .tif)

Un archivo donde se haya integrado en el texto, las figuras y las tablas, ambas con sus leyendas respectivas en el sitio donde los autores sugieren que deberían ubicarse, en formato Acrobat Reader cuyo nombre se escribirá de la siguiente forma: Pérez et al Ms.pdf. En el envio postal se debe incluir una copia impresa del ms incluido en el archivo Pérez et al Ms.pdf. En caso de no contar con el software para generar un archivo pdf, se debe enviar el archivo integrado en formato WordPerfect o Word.

Formato Impreso

Dado que el sistema electrónico de presentación de trabajos está en pleno funcionamiento, sólo en casos excepcionales se aceptarán trabajos en formato impreso. En caso de no poder acceder al sistema electrónico, se aceptará la recepción de un CD con los archivos siguiendo las normas antes indicadas.

En la situación fuertemente justificada en que no se pueda cumplir con el envío electrónico o un CD, se enviarán por correo tres copias de buena calidad. En caso de que el trabajo incluya fotografías, el autor debe enviar para el arbitraje dos juegos de fotos originales o fotocopias láser. No se aceptarán fotocopias comunes de fotografías.

Los manuscritos deben ser escritos a doble espacio, no deben exceder las treinta (30) páginas tamaño IRAM A4 (210 x 297 mm) o similar, incluyendo tablas, figuras y re-ferencias bibliográficas, y dejando 2,5 cm en todos los bordes. En casos especiales el Editor podrá aceptar trabajos más extensos.

CRITERIOS EDITORIALES

Los trabajos serán sometidos a dos arbitrajes como mínimo por los miembros del Comité Editorial Asesor y/o revisores externos de reconocido prestigio. En función de la opinión de los revisores, el Editor tomará la decisión definitiva sobre el mismo.

Una vez aceptado el trabajo, el autor deberá enviar el manuscrito final en versión electrónica según las instrucciones indicadas anteriormente. El autor recibirá en formato electrónico las pruebas de galera a los efectos de indicar posibles errores o modificaciones menores del texto. Cambios significativos al trabajo en esta etapa solo serán aceptados a discreción del Editor y los posibles costos de esos cambios deberán ser abonados por el autor.

Los autores de los trabajos deberán abonar una suma fija definida por GEOACTA, la que será eximida si uno o más de los autores es miembro de la misma.

Numerar todas las páginas en forma consecutiva de acuerdo al siguiente ordenamiento:

La página del título y autores deberá contener el título del trabajo, el nombre del o los autores, sus domicilios insti-tucionales y e-mails. Se deberá indicar a qué autor se enviarán las pruebas de galera y cualquier otra comunicación, como asimismo a qué autor se podrán requerir las separatas del trabajo. Se aconseja enviar los números de teléfono y fax del autor a cargo de las comunicaciones con la editorial.

Los resúmenes y abstracts no deberán exceder las qui-nientas (500) palabras.

Hasta 5 palabras claves y keywords. En breve se incluirá en la página web de la Asociación Argentina de Geofísicos y Geodestas un listado de palabras claves sugeridas. Las mismas deberán estar ordenadas por su importancia, con el lugar geográfico al final.

El texto puede ser dividido en partes principales, secundarias y terciarias. Los TITULOS PRINCIPALES se colocarán en letra mayúscula, resaltados y centrados en la página. Los títulos secundarios serán colocados en mayúscula y minúscula, resaltados, contra el margen izquierdo. Los títulos terciarios irán en mayúscula y minúscula, resaltados e incorporados al párrafo. Los títulos no deberán ser precedidos por números o letras.

El propósito del trabajo debe estar claramente expuesto en la introducción. Los agradecimientos se colocarán inme-diatamente después del texto, con un título de jerarquía terciaria.

Notas al pie de página no serán aceptadas.

Todos los términos no estándar o siglas deben ser definidos durante su primer empleo.

Se utilizará el Sistema Internacional de Medidas para informar datos. Otras unidades pueden ser presentadas entre paréntesis o como unidades primarias cuando no sea posible mostrar su conversión.

Referencias

Al final del texto se colocará una lista alfabética de todos los trabajos citados, que será encabezada por el título princi-pal REFERENCIAS, para los trabajos en Español o por REFERENCES, para los trabajos en Inglés.

En las citas bibliográficas en el texto sólo se usa el a-pellido sin nombres ni iniciales. Cuando se trata de dos autores, se los nombra separados por "y"; cuando estén involucrados más de dos autores se utilizará "et al." . En las REFERENCIAS se colocarán todos los autores. No debe utilizarse "(op. cit.)" en ningún caso.

Algunos ejemplos:

Los trabajos en las REFERENCIAS serán colocados en orden alfabético, sin dejar renglones entre citas, respetando los apellidos en el idioma original, sin abreviaturas, sin reemplazarlos por rayas. El primer autor se cita con Apellido e inicial y los sucesivos con inicial del nombre y apellido. El último autor va precedido de "y" o "and" según el trabajo sea en español o inglés, respectivamente.

Tablas

Las tablas deberán ser reducidas a un mínimo con información que tenga una relevancia concreta con el trabajo. Simple listados de datos, al menos que sean ampliamente justificados, no serán aceptados.

Las tablas deberán ser numeradas en forma consecutiva con números arábigos y cada una en una hoja diferente dentro del archivo de texto. En caso de ser necesario extender la tabla en varias páginas, deberá indicarse que continúa en cada página.
Las tablas se citan en el texto de la siguiente forma:: "... en Tabla 1", o "...(Tabla 1)"

Figuras y ecuaciones

Las figuras deben diseñarse teniendo en cuenta los tamaños de página y/o columna de GEOACTA. El tamaño máximo de impresión para las figuras es 172 x 220 mm para ancho de página o 84 x 220 mm para ancho de columna. El espacio para las leyendas bilingües debe ser incluido en estas dimensiones.

Las figuras deberán ser compactas, evitándose grandes espacios libres o desprovistos de información. Los mapas y los perfiles deberán llevar escala gráfica y coordenadas geográficas.

Las ilustraciones de computadora deberán ser de la más alta calidad de impresión posible, preferentemente realizadas en Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator o equivalente. Si se envían impresas, las mismas deben realizarse con impresoras láser o de chorro de tinta.

Las letras y números no deben ser menores de 1 mm luego de su reproducción. Las partes de una sola figura pueden ser llamadas (a), (b), (c), etc.

Las figuras compuestas por varias partes deberán ser montadas de modo tal que conformen en lo posible, una sola imagen. Las fotos montadas deben ordenarse de tal manera que no queden espacios en blanco entre las mismas.

Las copias fotográficas deberán ser de buena calidad, en blanco y negro, nítidas, y realizarse en papel brillante de buen contraste, en el tamaño final de reproducción. Las fotos no deben sobrepasar los 84 mm de ancho, ya sean apaisadas o verticales. La escala deberá indicarse con algún elemento cuyas dimensiones se adjuntarán en la leyenda o con una barra de escala.

Láminas de fotos en colores pueden ser publicadas con un costo mínimo extra, a cargo del autor. Se pueden requerir mayores detalles al Editor, previo al envío del manuscrito.

Todas las figuras impresas o papel original deben tener en el reverso el nombre del autor/es y el número de figura.

Los manuscritos impresos enviados por correo normal serán acompañados por fotocopias de buena calidad de las figuras originales, señalándose en forma clara el número corres-pondiente. Los originales no serán devueltos a los autores después de la publicación, salvo pedido expreso del autor.

Todas las ilustraciones, incluyendo las fotografías, serán denominadas FIGURAS, y en el texto se hará referencia a las mismas como, por ej: "...en la Figura 1 se observan..." o "...ciclos granodecrecientes (Fig. 1), comunes en otras facies". Numerar las figuras en forma consecutiva con números arábigos.

Las ecuaciones deben ser preferiblemente escritas con el editor de ecuaciones del editor de texto elegido. Todas ellas deben estar numeradas correlativamente entre paréntesis y justificado a la derecha. Las mismas se citarán en el texto como: "ec. (1)"

Instructions to the authors

GEOACTA is published by the Asociación Argentina de Geofísicos y Geodestas. It is formed by independent sections. Each one contains original articles or technical notes that are not simultaneous presented for evaluation to other journals. The subject of the articles are from the following Sciences: Geophysics, Geodesy, Geology, Vulcanism, oceanography, Geography, Geochemistry and related themes form the environment. The Editorial Committee, with the collaboration of specialist from the different sciences, evaluate the originality of the work and decide the section where the accepted contribution will be published and its order.

GEOACTA is published once a year. Papers must be original and will present data, interpretations and/or synthesis unpublished or submitted elsewhere. If accepted, papers become copyright of the Asociación Argentina de Geofísicos y Geodestas.

Official languages of GEOACTA are Spanish and English. Papers in Spanish will have a RESUMEN in this language and, with the object to insure its maximum diffusion, they will also include an ABSTRACT in English. Papers in English will have an ABSTRACT in this language and a RESUMEN in Spanish.

Authors may submit papers in any of the following options.

Research Papers: they are original contributions within the general subject of GEOACTA.

Short Notes: short contributions directed to inform of important discoveries that require immediate publication or to present new techniques or signifcant data. Short notes will have less than 4 pages typed in double space, including figures and references.

Discussions and Replies: comments and discussions about papers published in GEOACTA will be encouraged and they are a demonstration of remarkable concern for the progress of science, but with respect and tolerance of the diversity of opinnions. Discussions must clearly identify the complete citation of the paper. A copy of the Discussion will be sent to the first author of the paper being discussed for his/her reply. Both the Discussion and Reply will be published together in the next available issue of GEOACTA.

MANUSCRIPTS

Manuscripts can be submitted either in electronic format (preferable) or in print according to the following instructions. Nevertheless, in short, the Sistema Editorial Electrónico (SEE) will be implemented and it will be the only means for paper submission.

Electronic Format

Papers can be submitted either by e-mail (preferable) or by regular mail in CD, Zip or Diskettes to the Editor or co-Editor. The electronic version of the manuscript must follow, in general terms, the same format of the printed one, but the files should be structured and named according to:

One file with the text, including abstracts, references, tables and table and figure captions prepared in a text editor such as WordPerfect o Word. File name will include the name of the first author and the word "Text" (if more than one author use "et al"): Pérez et al Text.doc (or .wpd).

One file for each figure, preferably in format Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator, jpg or tif. The name of the file will follow the same format indicated for the text file, but include "Fig" and the number of the figure: Pérez et al Fig 1.cdr (or .jpg or .tif)

One file where the text, figures and tables (with their respective captions) integrated in the place where the authors suggested location in format Acrobat Reader. The name of the file will follow the same format indicated for the text file, but include "Ms": Pérez et al Ms.pdf. If the paper is sent by regular mail, it must include a printed copy of the file: Pérez et al Ms.pdf. In the case that the author has no access to software that allows generating a pdf file, the integrated files should sent in either Wordperfect or Word format.

Printed Format

Since the electronic system for submitting paper is active, only in excepcional cases we will accept printed versions. The previous options is to submit a CD including all files following the electronic format.

If either the electronic submission nor the CD cannot be accomplished in a fully justified manner, then three copies printed in high quality paper must be sent by regular mail. In the case the paper includes photographs; the author must also submit two sets of prints or good quality laser photocopies. Common photocopies of the photos will not be accepted.

Manuscripts must be typed double spaced, up to thirty (30) pages in length including tables, figures and references. Paper size should be A4 (210 x 297 mm) or similar, leaving 2.5 cm in all margins. Longer papers could be accepted under special circumstances by the Editor.

EDITORIAL CRITERIA

All submitted papers will be reviewed by at least two members of the Editorial Board and/or external referees of recognized prestige. Based on the reviewers opinnions, the Editor will take the final decision about it.

When the paper is accepted, the author must submit its final version in electronic format following the instructions provided previously. The author will receive the electronic format of the galley proofs to check for possible mistakes or minor modifications to the text. Major changes to the paper at this stage will only be accepted at the sole discretion of the Editor and the possible extra expenses that may result must be covered by the author.

There is a fix charge per paper defined by GEOACTA. Although, this charge is waived if one or more of the authors is a member of the Asociación.

Title page must include the paper title, authors and their institutional addresses with their e-mails. Indication of the corresponding authors if other of the first author. It is advisable to have the telephone and fax numbers of the corresponding author. Resúmenes and abstracts will be less than five hundred (500) words.

Up to five (5) palabras claves and keywords. In short a list of suggested keywords will be included in the web page of the Asociación Argentina de Geofísicos y Geodestas. Keywords should be arranged in order of importance, with the geographical area always last.

Text can be divided in primary, secondary and tertiary parts. PRIMARY TITLES are full capital letters, in bold and centred in the page. Secondary titles are in upper and lowercase, in bold and left justified. Tertiary titles are in upper and lowercase, in bold and incorporated in text. Titles will not include numbers or letters.

The purpose of the paper must be clearly stated in the introduction. Acknowledgements will go immediately after the text with a Tertiary title.

Footnotes are not allowed. All non-standard terms or acronyms must be defined at first use.

The International System of units is required for reporting measurements. Other units may be reported in parentheses or as primary units when conversion is not possible.

References

At the end of the text an alphabetic list of the referentes cited in it will be included with the title REFERENCIAS for Spanish papers and REFERENCES for papers in English.

The references will be cited in the text with the last name and date only. When the reference is with two authors it will be used "y" and with more than two authors "et al." In the References the cites should be complete. "(op. cit.)" will not be used in the text.

Some examples:

The first autor will be cited with the last name and then the inicial of the names, the following ones will be cited with name initials and then last name. If the reference is in English languaje it should be used the word "and" and not "y". Some examples:

Tables

Tables should be reduced to a minimum including only information with a concrete relevance to the objectives if the paper. Simple listing of data, unless highly justified, will not be acceptable.

Tables must be numbered consecutively with arabic numbers and provided in a separate page. In case that the table expands more than one page, this must be indicated in each page.

Tables are cited in the text as: "... en Table 1", or "...(Table 1)"

Once the paper is accepted, the author must provide an electronic version of the tables according with the editorial criteria of GEOACTA. Printed tables will not be accepted.

Table captions must be bilingual, typed in double space and in a list at the end of the text.

Figures and Equations

All figures must be designed having the page and column sizes of GEOACTA in mind. Maximum printed size of the figures is 172 x 220 mm for full page or 84 x 220 mm for column width. The figure captions must be included in these dimensions.

Figures must be compact, avoiding large free spaces o lacking information. Maps and geological profiles must have both graphic scales and geographic coordinates.

Computer drawings must be of the highest quality preferably made with Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator or equivalent. When submitted in print, they must be printed by either laser or inkjet printer.

When reproduced, letters and numbers in figures should be larger than 1 mm. Parts of one figure can be named as (a), (b), (c), etc.

Composed figures must be integrated in such a way as they form one unique figure. In the case of photos, no blank space in between must be allowed.

Photographic prints must be of high quality, black and white, in glossy paper with good contrast and y the final reproduction size. Photos cannot be wider than 84 mm either portrait or landscape. Photos must have some kind of scaling that can be referenced in the caption.

Color plates can be published to a minimum cost to the author. Further details could be requested to the Editor before submitting the manuscript.

All printed figures must have on the reverse the name of the author and the figure number.

Printed manuscript must include high quality copies of the original figures clearly marked with the author name and number.

Originals will not be returned unless requested by the author.

All illustrations are Figures and should be refered in the text as, e.g.: "...en la figura 1 se observan..." or"...ciclos granodecrecientes (Fig. 1), comunes en otras facies". Figures must be numbered consecutively with arabic numbers.

Equations should be prepared preferable with the equation editor of the selected text editor. All of them must be numbered consecutively between parentheses and right justified. They will be cited in the text as: "ec. (1)"
